About the event
ACEs, Adverse Childhood Experiences, are traumatic events that happen before the age of 18 that can negatively impact a person’s health throughout their life and affect future generations. These three classes are designed to be a safe place where participants can identify previous trauma and its impact on their lives, including on the developing brain and decision-making. It offers tools for recognizing negative thought patterns and for building resilience, the ability to cope and bounce back from the effects of trauma and toxic stress. The class also teaches about PACE’s, protective factors such as positive relationships and hobbies, which help reduce and heal the effects of childhood trauma. Protecting ourselves from trauma and building resilience creates a positive ripple effect within our families, our communities, and our future generations.
